Hornby recently announced the future release of the OO/1:76 Wainwright H Class 0-4-4T in BR Black, well the next release is in the pleasing greens of South Eastern and Chatham Railway
”Continuing with our Southern theme, it seems a week just can’t go by without featuring the first of our 2017 announcements, the Wainwright H Class in one way or another. After the Late BR version went down so well (and why wouldn’t it?) many of you were keen to see its Southern counterpart take centre stage. Well without further ado feast your eyes on the latest pictures”.

Locomotive No.1324 was built at Ashford Works in May 1907, entering traffic as No.324 at Ashford. In 1924, now at Tonbridge, the locomotive provided through train services between the Eastern and Central sections of the Southern Railway, an unusual event for the time, but one that became commonplace. Renumbered as No.31324 under British Railways, the locomotive was withdrawn from Three Bridges in July 1962.

The model features NEM couplings and is DCC ready.

Release date October 2017.

Interesting wheel configuration. British steam locos were such clean designs with most oft their appliances under the jackets and inside valve gear. Not a lot for my clumsy fingers to knock off!
