Bachmann has released livery test images of their latest OO/1:76 releases a quartet of Post Office Stowage Tenders
Bachmann is excited to be able to share the latest images of their OO/1:76 BR Mk1 Traveling Post Office POT Stowage Vans with you. Currently at the livery sample stage, these models will work well on many layouts set in the late 1960s right through to the early 2000s.
Built in the late 1960s from redundant passenger coaches, Post Office Stowage Tenders (POTs) were constructed to run in conjunction with Sorting Vans. Mail bags would be loaded into the Stowage Van and during the journey the bags would be taken into the Sorting Van to be sorted depending on the destination of each letter. Once sorted, letters would be bagged with other mail for the same destination and then put back in the Stowage Van ready to be offloaded at the correct location.
Bachmann is producing four BR Mk1 TPO POT Stowage Vans consisting of:
-39-750 Post Office Red with EWS Branding
-39-755 BR Blue & Grey
-39-760 Royal Mail Red 'Letters' livery
-39-765 Royal Mail Red 'Travelling Post Office' livery
