Introduction
Transport Chains Military Transport (Chains for 2 Tanks) by Artitec is a 1:87/HO scale resin & photo-etch set of tiedown gear for rail transport. It is Item 387.300.

Artitec's web page titles these as Chains for 2 Tanks and this set is hosted in their Post-WWII subcategory.

The Kit
Chains for 2 Tanks contains eight (8) resin pieces on two (2) "sprues" and a photo-etch fret with 22 parts:
    Resin Chocks/blocking/bracing x 8
    P/E chains with hook-end bars x 4
P/E chains with ratchets and shackles x 4
    P/E "S" shackles x 4
    P/E hooks x 10

I can not find any information as to whether the ratchets or hook-end bars are actually turnbuckles.

Casting of the chocks is crisp. Photo-etching is sharp although the chain links are not etched open. That doen't bother me as open 1/87 links would be very fragile.

Artitec painted one sprue of blocking a woody color but the other is just the color of resin.

Instructions, Painting and Decals
Artitec instructions are very good. Assembly is illustrated with photographs demonstrating the attaching of the tiedowns. There are eight steps narrated in Dutch, English and German.

There are no decals nor painting guidance.

Wrap It UP!
Transport Chains Military Transport (Chains for 2 Tanks) is an impressive 1:87/HO set for strapping down your vehicles to your railcars.

Assembly instructions are high-grade. The casting of the chocks/blocking/bracing/cribbing is clean and crisp. The etching of the chains and accessories is sharp. All of the parts show fine detail. This set will afford the modeler to create an extra level of detail for their model railway transport.

I happily recommend this set of restraints.
