This Mercedes-Benz EQC AMG
is a new HO scale electric SUV from Herpa
. It is item 430715
currently catalogues four EQC AMG models and 423 Mercedes-Benz models.
announces this models thus:
New type! The new Mercedes-Benz EQC, a fully electrically powered vehicle, shows a completely new face for a Mercedes-Benz. Herpa has reduced the size of this vehicle by a factor of 87, and will initially deliver this miniature in polar white and cavansit blue metallic.
Let's kick the tires and slam the doors!
ShowroomHerpa's Mercedes-Benz EQC AMG
is factory assembled. Molding is to a high quality, as is assembly. I found no flash, sink marks, ejector circles, or burrs where the parts were removed from their parts tree.
The windows are clear and without distortion, allowing you to see the nice interior. The tires are a plastic-rubber hybrid. Herpa
cars are snap-together (except perhaps the side mirrors and rear view mirror) and can be disassembled for modelers who want to put figures inside. However, no instructions are included and the parts are so tight, taking a model apart can be tricky. Just work slowly and loosen parts evenly.
Look at the wheel hubs. They feature fine sharp star burst detail. Around them are the soft tires. They have detail along the shoulder but not on the tread.
Fine recessed or raised detail, as appropriate, create the external detail - hood, doors, grille, etc.. I haven't ever seen the underside of a Mercedes-Benz EQC AMG
, so I leave it to you whether it is detailed, and if it matters.
Clear lenses are used for the headlights while tinted clear lenses are used for the brake lights.
Look inside and see the detailed passenger compartment. Seats, dash, consoles, steering wheel - all there. A rear view mirror is also suspended from the windshield. Window shading is printed on the interior of the rear windows.
This is a nicely detailed Mercedes-Benz EQC AMG
uses paint and color-molded parts and their finish is exceptional. The Cavansit Blue is glass-smooth. Silver trim is painted on, as is the Mercedes-Benz emblem, type symbols, and other markings. They are so fine that I need magnification to read it all. Amazing.
Modern era model railroaders, collectors of cars, and dioramaists of HO (1/87) should welcome this new Mercedes-Benz EQC AMG
. It features exceptional finish, clear lenses for lights, a detailed interior, and excellent molding. The only characteristic I complain about is the lack of full tread detail on the otherwise realistic tires.
