About Gino P. Quintiliani (HeavyArty)

Retired US Army Artillery Officer, currently a contractor at MacDill AFB in the Tampa, FL area. I have been modelling for the past 40+ years, really seriously on armor and large scale helos (1/32, 1/35) for the last 35 or so.

Gino, real nice job on the slat. I am doing one right now myself. Slow going. What did you use for the rear roof glass set up? Did you scratch that or source it from somewhere? I will be doing a similar model in the future with the humvee glass all around the roof. Bob

Thanks guys. It was a fun build. I like adding all the little details too, it brings it to life. Bob: I scratched the rear armored glass panel. I used HMMWV windshield glass and built the frame from Evergreen "L" beam and sheet styrene.

Great work Gino..your builds always inspire me to try different techniques. did you use gauze for the camo nets? Jeff

Hi Jeff. I used cheese cloth for the nets, soaked in cuban coffee (strong, dark stuff) to stain it the tan color. I think it came out pretty well.
